Divisional and Regional Safety Forums

The effective implementation of safety policies and safe practice depends on active management at local levels.  The divisional and regional safety forums are the key bodies to deliver that.  The guidance seeks to focus the forums' efforts on the essential elements of safety management (including fire, security, occupational health and food hygiene) which if applied will largely ensure safe working and compliance.

The Divisional and Regional Safety Forums are the key management bodies for the implementation and enforcement of good safety management throughout the organisation.  Group and divisional boards will monitor and review safety performance as part of wider business but only the divisional and regional forums are specifically concerned with safety matters and have the detailed operational knowledge and focus to make good safety a reality.

This guidance provides divisional and regional forum's information on the key areas for scrutiny and management of safety in their areas and for the production and retention of reports.
