Competency

Competence plays a very important role in controlling health and safety risks. Competence is a combination of practical and thinking skills, experience and knowledge. This includes not only the routine task, but also coping with unexpected situations and changes.

The BBC, as an employer, is responsible for the health and safety at work, to provide and maintain a safe place of work with safe systems.

All employees should be able to demonstrate qualifications, experience, and skills appropriate to their duties and there are relevant training courses to familiarise yourself with BBC practices and standards.
