Health and Safety Responsibilities
MyRisks is a web-based system that enables staff to access
occupational risk management information. It recognises users by
their BBC IT logon so it can show information relevant to that
person. This includes a myResponsibilities module that presents a
personalised portfolio of occupational risk responsibilities to
each user.

The allocation of occupational risk responsibilities is based on the principle that we are all responsible for the work under our control, for those working under our control and for the people who are affected by our work. This means that everyone in the organisation has responsibilities, even people without any managerial or leadership roles to fulfil.
Therefore, these guidelines apply to everyone working at the BBC
These guidelines describe:
- the responsibility components and the allocation of responsibilities;
- how to use myRisks to set up and manage your responsibilities;
- how responsibility levels are used in the recruitment process;
- a summary of core responsibilities, a glossary and answer some common questions.
Information: Please note that
the responsibilities contained in myRisks are not
exhaustive. They are intended to provide a guide to key
responsibilities for most people managing these topics and risks,
in usual situations.
Always refer to the BBC advice and guidance for
the topics or risk in myRisks Information for further
information. In these statements "manager" means anyone managing
another member of staff. This may also apply to those managing
contractors.
