On Location

The range of locations the BBC uses when recording are numerous and varied. As a consequence of this, the hazards which need to be considered and controlled when recording on location are as varied. 

 

Locations vary from derelict buildings, sports grounds, railways, public roads etc.  Wherever the location is, productions must ensure that is safe and suitable for the proposed work activities. 

 

The following guidance is aimed at all staff involved in programme and content production when planning and recording.  It is produced to assist them in, carrying out safety checks, who to consult, and what control measures need to be implemented to ensure a safe place of work.
