Fire Safety During Contractor's Operations

In all situations, the following principles apply, there must be:
- Suitable measures to minimise the likelihood of fire.
- Adequate arrangements to warn people of fire.
- Adequate escape routes and exits.
- Where appropriate, adequate exit and other signs.
- Where appropriate, adequate emergency lighting.
- Adequate fire fighting equipment.
- Adequate instruction of all employees and others.
- In longer term work, adequate maintenance and testing of fire precautions.
- Appropriate flame retardance of sets, scenic materials and props.
- All premises should be approved by the Fire Safety Manager, BBC Safety, prior to occupation.
