Key Points
Those responsible for assessing and managing risk from an activity must:
- Complete the BBC training for risk assessment
- Complete a risk assessment when you expose persons to significant risk of injury / ill-health
- Be clear about the activity being assessed
- Use the BBC risk assessment process
- When working with third parties, obtain and check risk assessments from them where their activities present a significant risk
- Ensure your risk assessment is authorised prior to it being used / relied on
- Communicate the significant findings of your risk assessment to those exposed to the risks identified
- Review the content of your risk assessment regularly to ensure it is accurate
- Modify your assessment if significant changes occur
- Keep a record of your risk assessment for at least 3 years.
