Monitoring
We all have a responsibility for our own
safety, that of our colleagues and anyone else that may be affected
by the work that we do. No-one should be required to do
something that they feel is unsafe, nor should they allow others to
be put at risk.
We have a duty to monitor safety. If
something isn't right, speak out.
Managers have a specific responsibility to
formally monitor the activities they manage to make sure safety
measure are being applied.
This guidance is intended for anyone in the BBC
who has managerial responsibility for ensuring that safety is
managed in the activities under their control whether it is by
people in their direct line or third parties over whom they have
control (for example contractors).
