How the service works

  • To allow enough time to prepare properly, contact your local Travel Clinic to make an appointment at least 4-6 weeks before your trip.
  • Even if this is not possible (e.g. because you have to travel at short notice) it is still worth booking an appointment.
  • If your job involves travelling at short notice, you can avoid last minute problems by ensuring that you are up to date with "core" immunisations A strategy of continuous protection offers advantages over the conventional "trip-by-trip" approach.
  • We also provide travel health briefings for crews/programmes planning major overseas productions.
  • You should also see us if you are ill on return to the UK or have been ill overseas. Where necessary, we can arrange referrals for further management.
  • Please contact your local Travel Clinic to make appointments or to seek travel health advice. Appointments can be arranged via BBC HR Direct.
