Travel and Working Abroad
Key Points

  • You should contact the Occupational Health Advice Line, 08000 82 80 80, when booking a Travel Clinic appointment.
  • Please contact the Travel Clinic at the earliest opportunity, ideally at least 4-6 weeks before your trip..
  • If you will need to travel at short notice then please contact BBC HR Direct as soon as possible to find out how to avoid last minute problems.
  • Ideally we prefer to have at least 4 weeks to plan effectively.  However, if this is not possible (e.g. because you have to travel at short notice), it is still worth booking an appointment.
  • If your job involves travelling at short notice, you should avoid last minute problems by ensuring that you are up to date with "core" immunisations, as a strategy of continuous protection offers advantages over the conventional "trip-by-trip" approach.
  • Travel health briefings are provided by the Occupational Health Department Travel Clinic for crews & programmes planning major overseas productions.
  • If you are ill when working broad or following your return then you should see us. Please contact BBC HR Direct, for further advice & follow up.
