Working on or near Water
Location
There are a broad range of locations where
recording may take place. These locations may include swimming
pools, open water, rivers, harbours, ports, docks, lakes, canals,
quays etc. These locations will have different restrictions
on what, where and how we can record, depending on the hazards
present and the restrictions imposed by those who manage and
maintain the site.
Production should ask the
managing organisation for safety information which should include
any restrictions which may have an impact on the
recording. These hazards and their controls
should be incorporated in the production risk
assessment. Permission is required when:
- Filming on water on private property;
- Firing rockets or other distress signals;
- Firing maroons, weapons or explosives.
- Using smoke or fire.
- Simulating accidents, drowning, sinking etc.
