evaluate the risk.
- Appropriate training and experience of team
members is essential when operating in a cold environment.
- Wear the correct clothes for cold weather.
- If you have any concerns about the quality of
drinking water, inform facilities management.
- Corridors, walkways, stairs, doorways, around a
workplace must be clean and clear of obstructions.
- Managers must ensure suitable staff are
identified and nominated to train as First Aiders as required.
- Don't use mobile phones where they may interfere
with other equipment, e.g., hospitals, aeroplanes, petrol
stations, quarries and where explosive gases may be present.
- Rest areas should provide sufficient chairs, and
if the facility is used for eating, tables should be provided.
- Smoking is not permitted anywhere in BBC
buildings with the exception of a small number of controlled
designated smoking areas.
