Guarding Machinery

All machinery must be adequately guarded meeting with all statutory provisions and the findings of a risk assessment.

 

Guards and covers must be kept in position whilst the machinery is in use.

 

Only authorised staff may remove such guards and then only when a full risk assessment has been conducted and adequate precautions taken.

 

Any interlocks fitted must never be overridden except under maintenance or test conditions where strict precautions have been put in place.
