Key Points

  • If booking location catering or event catering for a BBC Production, a company must used from the BBC vetted list.
  • All food suppliers in the UK must be registered by law with the local environmental health department (local council) where they are based this applies to most mobile caterers as well.
  • All persons handling food must be trained in good food hygiene practices this a key legal requirement.  This applies to temporary agency staff as well.
  • All food suppliers must have a Hazard Analysis (HACCP) plan detailing the control measures they have implemented for supplying food safely This is a legal requirement.
