Around the Office
Common Questions
I ensure housekeeping issues are addressed?
Regular safety inspections should pick up any housekeeping
problems, the subject can also be raised at team meetings.
Contact your local Facilities Manager, and obtain initial
advice from BBC Safety.
You should be able to get to and from your desk safely. As a
rule of thumb there should be a clear walkway of around 2 feet to
your desk. Where desks are squeezed in closely
together, the 2 feet distance should be between the backs of chairs
when people are seated normally.
Having plants in the office can help to improve
humidity.
Speak to Facilities Management to see if they can alter the
angle of the ventilation grilles.
Talk to Facilities Management and ask them to check if the
system is working properly.
