Your risk assessment must include the safe use and operation of all vehicles you will deploy.
Be clear about the intended use of the vehicle and ensure it is 'fit for purpose' (i.e. designed for the use you wish to make of it).
Check to see whether you have to use a Vetted Contractor.
Ensure any statutory paperwork is provided.
Consider where the vehicle will be used, how it will get there and be rigged/de-rigged especially where external power supplies are required for technical vehicles.
Depending on the vehicle type and use, identify particular hazards such as overhead power lines for vehicles with masts and the storage on site of hazardous substances.
Consider environmental impact of vehicles used, for example, with re-fuelling and disposal of any waste generated.
Be clear about who has responsibility for the safe operation of each vehicle at each stage of its use.
