Stunts
Common Questions

Can a member of staff, who is competent and skilled in a particular activity, e.g. skateboarding, perform a 'stunt jump' for my production?
This will depend on the type of activity and the level of competence and skill of that person and the complexity of the activity required.

I wish a particular low risk fight scene to be performed and do not need a fight arranger to be present. Can I proceed?
Possibly but the sequence must be fully discussed, a risk assessment carried out and details of the action to be clearly communicated to all.

A particular scene requires several different 'stunts' to be performed simultaneously. Who is in charge?
The Producer is responsible for ensuring that there is an overall suitable and sufficient Risk Assessment and that there is a stunt co-ordinator appointed to take responsibility for the co-ordination of the activities.

My stunt co-ordinator, or stunt artiste, is not available to attend the recce for a particular sequence. Is this ok if I ensure that information is communicated in good time?
This is not recommended. For all stunts it is important that the competent stunt artist or co-ordinator be present in order to discuss the particular requirements in detail with the Production team.

I am not sure if the sequence I wish to shoot is a stunt or not. What should I do?
