What is classed as an environmental incident?
Incidents that may have resulted in environmental damage. This may include damage to water courses, land and emissions to the air. There are different classifications of environmental incidents they are as follows:
  • Breach of limits/licence conditions
  • Oil and chemical storage
  • Spillage and spillage response
  • Waste storage and disposal
  • Serious public or other complaint
  • Water abstraction and disposal
  • Third parties and supply chain
  • Smoke, fumes and odours
  • Natural environment and wildlife
  • Light nuisance
  • Noise nuisance
Where do I log an environmental incident?
Environmental incidents must be logged within My Risks - Tools. There is a possibility that an investigation maybe conducted into why the incident occurred resulting in action tracking and the review of risk assessments
