Rights Holding Broadcaster

A production which records or observes an event or a marketing event that is within a larger Event organised and hosted by another, the Rights Holding Broadcaster should supply the Host Broadcaster with relevant health and safety information relating to their work.

Model 3

The BBC holds rights to broadcast from or have a Show within the Event, but do not have any responsibility for organising it.  They have to liaise closely with the Event Organiser. E.g. Glastonbury; BBC Gardeners' World Show. If the BBC has an Event of their own within these larger Events then they will take on the required organising role for their own Event, but still maintain close liaison with the main Event Organiser.

The Rights Holding Broadcaster will appoint a person from their team to act as the point of contact for health and safety matters and ensure the appropriate health and safety information is distributed to individuals on their team.

The Rights Holding Broadcaster will complete a risk assessment for its activities, which should be provided to the Host Broadcaster and the Event Organiser.
