Responsibilities
The Event Health and Safety Co-ordinator

  • Is appointed by Event Organiser at the earliest possible stage during the design and planning of the Event; they will need to be competent and adequately resourced.
  • The Event H&S co-ordinator has responsibility for co-ordinating the health and safety aspects of the Event and ensure that the health and safety plan is prepared and prepares the Event Safety File.
  • Health and safety meetings should be held as soon as possible after the plan has been approved to define H&S requirements using the Format for Event H&S meeting found in Planning.
  • The individual should be experienced in Events and have relevant knowledge of health and safety. Information to be given to the H&S Co-ordinator could include site plans, the premises, work processes and activities, details from utilities and equipment suppliers, risk assessments from the participants etc. They will co-ordinate with the H&S liaison people from all the participating groups.
