Working with Computers and Monitors
Key Points

The main things we need to do are;
  • Carry out an assessment of your work station.
  • Make sure the assessment is forwarded or sent to your manager.
  • Make sure that your posture is good and that you are taking regular breaks.
  • If you have any health problems that you think may be related to your work station please report them promptly.
  • If you have any eye problems or difficulty with your vision make sure you have an eye test.

As a manger you have different responsibilities and different things to do. As well as carrying out your own DSE assessment.
  • You will need to make sure that your staff carry out a DSE assessment. You can nominate a co ordinator to carry out this task for you.
  • You will need to make sure that if any changes are required to the work area that these are carried out and documented on the DSE assessment.
  • You need to keep the records of the DSE assessment.
  • You need to make sure that staff have time to take a break.
  • You need to encourage staff to report any health problems.
