Fire Risk

The objectives of any Fire Risk management for an Event are to ensure that, as far as practicable:
  • fires are prevented;
  • people are protected against fire;
  • property is protected against fire;
  • essential business, such as transmission and production, is not interrupted by fire;
  • suitable procedures are followed if fire occurs;
  • all fire precautions are monitored and maintained.
It is therefore necessary for the event organiser to work closely with the venue manager and all Parties working at the Event to make sure the risks are properly assessed and controlled. If appropriate, by asking for an inspection of venues by a member of the BBC Fire Risk Management Team to check rented buildings before we occupy them. This is particularly necessary when a building is planned to be leased, prior to agreeing terms. Further information can be found on the Production Fire Management page.
