Planning Events
Temporary Structures

Many events require temporary demountable structures. These can include: stages, video walls, barriers, lighting and special effect towers, TV and sound towers, platforms and masts, loud speaker stacks etc.  Where temporary structures are required the Production must:
 
Select contractors from the vetted list where necessary for BBC.
 
Request safety documentation on the following topics as a minimum for each structure:
  • Designers Statement
  • Construction Drawings
  • Safety Method Statement
  • Risk Assessment
  • Completion Certificate
Submit relevant documentation to the Local Authority at least 14 days before the event.
 
Ensure risk assessments are exchanged between relevant contractors.
 
All information should be retained in the event safety file.
