Key Points
- A risk assessment must be completed before any
oil, waste stored or disposed of, any noise or light effects are to
take place.
- All oil and chemicals must be stored safely to
prevent pollution; this includes temporary facilities used for
outside broadcasts, locations and events.
- Waste must be stored safely and securely to
prevent it causing pollution or causing harm to anyone and disposed
of in accordance with Security Code of Practice. Large volumes of
liquid waste (greater than 10% of the total load) cannot be
sent to landfill.
- All Environmental Incidents must be reported
using MyRisks.
- Personnel managing outside
broadcasts, locations, events and BBC
premises must take all reasonable steps to avoid causing an
environmental nuisance.
- An abstraction licence is required in order to
abstract water.
- Discharge consent must be held for any
discharges to controlled waters.
