Planning Events
Location Recces

The purpose of the location recce is to determine the procedures, arrangements and responsibilities for the event. Where possible, a representative from the following organisations should attend the location recce.
  • The Producer/manager or other delegated person.
  • A representative from Resources.
  • The venue manager.
  • The event organiser.
  • The Local Authority (if appropriate).
  • Emergency Services (if appropriate).
  • A representative from any contractors engaged by the Production.
At the location recce, the relevant location recce checklist, Form 2 or Form 3 , should be completed and retained in the Safety file.
 
If the Production agrees to supply event infrastructure (e.g. stages, P.A. etc) through an independent contractor, then it is advisable that a representative from the company attends the location recce.
