Employers Liability
Insurance
The following Employers Liability Certificate
will require updating annually. Therefore, you may find the
enclosed certificate out of date. In order to ensure that you
have a certificate that is up to date visit the Employers' liability letter/certificate
gateway page and print an up to date copy.
Public Liability
Insurance
Public Liability Insurance is for legal
liability, in order to pay claims in respect of injury to the
public or damage to property not belonging to the BBC but caused in
connection with the business, anywhere in the world. Cover limits
are confidential but Insurance
Services usually confirm cover of at least
£15,000,000 on any one loss.
Cancellation
certificates
Some Productions may need to take advice on Cancellation Insurance and Insurance relating
to terrorist activity etc.
Forms and templates
When recording events, a copy of the formal
letter confirming cover and the Insurance certificate should be
produced. Please complete the details of the production on the
Gateway site and print out a certificate specific to the
production. This should be retained in your Event Safety
File.
It is a requirement under regulation 5 of the
Employers' Liability (compulsory insurance),
that an Employer's liability certificate is displayed at each place of
business.
A letter is also available to send to
educational establishments with regards to work experience
placements.
Public Liability
Letter/Certificate
It is not unusual for location owners or local
authorities to request evidence of the BBC's Public Liability
cover. Supporting documentation can be found on the Public Liability gateway page.
