Assistance Dogs and Pets

Registered Assistance Dogs will normally be allowed access to most areas of the BBC but those responsible for bringing any animals on to BBC-controlled sites must first obtain clearance from premises management.

Some pets present a negligible risk - domestic cats, dogs, rabbits and guinea pigs for example. "Tame" or "semi-tame" animals may, however, still cause injuries - people expect them to be safe, and the animals have less fear of people.  There are also a number of people who are allergic to animals.  Any arrangements must take account of the affect on those who may have an allergic reaction.
