Working Hours
Monitoring working hours
Monitor working hours on the production to
check that the actual hours work agree with the schedule (see the
guidance on scheduling policy). The trigger for monitoring
working hours is where the working pattern includes the features
described. Those features would trigger the assessment of the
risk from fatigue.
The
Scheduling Guidelines are set out on the HR Online site as part
of an agreed statement with the unions. The guidelines state that
those who need to be identified and whose working hours need to be
recorded are:
- Employees who are regularly working a pattern of work which involves or is likely to involve working 48 hours or more in a week.
- New starters, where there is a possibility of the individual working more than 48 hours per week in the first 17 weeks of employment.
- Individuals who are self-scheduling who regularly or who are likely on a regular basis to work more than 48 hours or more in a seven day period.
- Night-workers.
