Threats to People
Contact Head of Corporate Security if you
believe that your programme activity or personal profile may give
rise to security threats to yourself or to the BBC.
If you have received actual threats,
contact Head of Corporate Security as soon as possible and inform
the BBC Investigation Service and the police if the threat is of an
immediate nature.
At his discretion, Head of Corporate Security
may offer a security risk assessment to the production or
individual. Measures recommended as a result of a security risk
assessment will be designed to mitigate and not to eliminate any
perceived threat.
Please note that recommended security features
that would normally be prudent for a dwelling or workplace at that
location, such as secure doors or windows, must be installed or
upgraded at the individual's cost.
The cost of recommended security features
beyond this normal provision, such as alarms or panic buttons, will
be met by the BBC only in exceptional circumstances and will be
subject to local business unit financial approval procedures. Head
of Corporate Security must give approval prior to the installation
of recommended security features to ensure they are of suitable
specification and quality.
Where the BBC agrees to meet the cost of any
ongoing security measures, such requirement will be reassessed as
appropriate.
