Management of Security
Division Security Management
The senior manager with responsibility for
security issues within each Division:
- ensures that a Division Security Risk Assessment is prepared and regularly reviewed as part of the Division's risk management and audit control arrangements;
- ensures that the Division Security Risk Assessment covers all major assets and facilities essential to business continuity;
- ensures that the Division Security Risk Assessment establishes a security framework for work on location, away from BBC premises;
- liaises with senior Facilities Managers and ensures that any improvements to building security arrangements identified through the Division Security Risk Assessment process are implemented;
- liaises with the Head of Corporate Security to ensure that any personal security arrangements identified through the Division Security Risk Assessment process are put in place and that any structural or procedural changes at BBC sites and offices follow guidelines and standards as appropriate;
- ensures that responsible Facilities Managers are informed of any special security arrangements for members of staff, contributors and visitors; and
- ensures that security priorities are reflected in all planning activities and accommodation changes.
Divisions must ensure that:
- all staff, including part-time and temporary staff, are in possession of a valid I.D. card which should be visible at all times;
- all I.D. cards and access control tokens are surrendered for disposal when employment ceases;
- all staff, visitors, contributors and contractors co-operate with building security arrangements and measures;
- appropriate training is provided for those with security responsibilities;
- regular auditing of security arrangements and procedures is completed; and
- appropriate funding is provided to implement the Security Policy's objectives.
