Risk Assessments (Water Abstraction and Disposal)
Prior to an outside broadcast, locations and events a risk assessment using the BBC risk assessment process must be undertaken.  A record of the risk assessment must be held on site and mitigation measures implemented as identified before the event commences.
 
The following factors must be considered:
  • The location of the event and its proximity to controlled waters.
  • The volume of water which is going to be abstracted or disposed of.
  • Whether the amount requires an abstraction license or discharge consent.
  • The adequacy of mitigation techniques and other pollution control measures.
