Risk Assessments (Natural Environment and Wildlife)

Prior to an outside broadcast, locations and events a risk assessment using the BBC risk assessment process must be undertaken. A record of the risk assessment must be held on site and mitigation measures implemented as identified before the event commences.

The following factors must be considered:

The location of the event and its proximity to animals, Special Areas of Conservation and Sites of Special Scientific Interest.
The intensity of work which is expected and the impact on the local natural environment.
The adequacy of mitigation techniques and other pollution control measures.
