Environmental Nuisance
Avoiding Environmental Nuisance (BBC Premises)
At BBC premises environmental nuisance,
including noise and pollution (for smoke, fumes and odours see Air
Pollution) could be considered by the Local Authority to be a
statutory nuisance, in which case they can act through issuing a
works or abatement notice.
At BBC premises consideration must therefore be
given to:
- Scheduling activities to avoid causing a nuisance to neighbouring premises.
- Sending letters to local residents giving them details of any activities which may operate outside normal operating hours.
- Locate temporary generators away from residential boundaries and other sensitive receptors.
- Ensure that both internal and external lighting is both positioned and operated to avoid causing a nuisance to neighbouring properties and sky glow.
