Fire Fighting Run-off

Fire fighting run-off causes pollution both through the type of fire suppressant used and the subsequent run-off of waste waters caused by the burning premises. In all cases the fire brigade are to decide on the best method of managing runoff at the time of fire. BBC guidance should be followed as outlined within Fire Safety Guidance Note 15 with regards the installation of gaseous fire suppression. For general advice or information contact Ask Al - BBC Safety Advice Line.
