Contaminated Land
Special Effects (Snow effects, general waste storage and disposal
and the use of gunge)
Measures that can be taken to avoid special
effects [e.g. practice foam and gunge] from causing contaminated
land include:
- Ensuring that an appropriate risk assessment is undertaken and control measures put in place before the effect takes place.
- Ensure clearance measures are put in place to remove the materials which have been used.
- Substances which are going to be used in special effects must be stored safely and securely as to prevent pollution.
- Ensure potentially harmful substances which are used are segregated from the general waste streams.
- Ensure permission has been granted from the land owner/landlord before commencing with the effect.
- Ensure land is reinstated where explosion have occurred and debris has been cleared.
