EU Emissions Trading Scheme

Any BBC premises where the installed combustion capacity exceeds 20 MW is required to operate within the requirements of the European Union Emissions Trading Scheme. The scheme is a key element of the EU and United Kingdom climate change programmes - designed to allow businesses to reduce their emissions of greenhouse gases in the most economically efficient way.
