Building Energy
Building Regulations Part L

All new build BBC premises or those which are undergoing the replacement and renovation of thermal elements must have reasonable provision for the conservation of fuel and power through ensuring developers and contractors:
a) limit heat gains and losses
i. through thermal elements and other parts of the building fabric; and
ii. from pipes, ducts and vessels used for space heating, space cooling and hot water services;
b) provide and commission energy efficient fixed building services with effective controls; and

c) provide the BBC and FM service providers with sufficient information about the building, the fixed building services and their maintenance requirements so that the buildings can be operated in a manner as to use no more fuel and power than is reasonable under the circumstances.
