Threats
The BBC carries out its business worldwide and
receives guests from all walks of life including many involved in
controversy. Its editorial judgement may be
challenged. Terrorist crime has become increasingly common. Groups
and individuals have resorted to acts of terrorism to publicise
their political objectives. Some are concerned
with domestic issues, others operate
internationally. Some seek to target
organisations or individuals, and others are more indiscriminate in
their targeting.
Contact Head of Corporate Security if you
believe that your programme activity or personal profile may give
rise to security threats to yourself or to the
BBC.
If you have
received actual threats, contact the Head of Corporate Security as
soon as possible and inform the BBC Investigation Service
and the police if the threat is of an immediate
nature.
