This information is for anyone planning to work
on or near water. It considers different locations, rivers, sea,
swimming pools etc. For larger boats, ferries and other scheduled
operators, guidance form the operator should be sought. The
principles in this document can be applied to any type of work,
however, the focus of this information is on programme production.
BBC Safety should be contacted when planning any other type of work
or planning work overseas.
The BBC uses small boats to:
- Simulate an event for a drama or reconstruction.
- Be a camera platform - to record work or observe other people.
- Provide emergency support for other activities in or on the water.
- Transport people or equipment.
