Fire risk assessments of BBC workplaces go further in scope and purpose than simply satisfying legislation. As well as assessing the risk to life, they are intended to evaluate the risks to BBC property, and the risk to essential business. Property loss and business interruption considerations require additional control measures to those necessary to satisfy legislation. The assessments discussed in this document are specific assessments related to fire. Fire hazards associated with work activities are covered through the normal risk assessment procedures.
