Environment and Productions

This guidance is intended to provide information on how to reduce the risk of environmental incidents, nuisance or legal non-compliance while on outside broadcasts, locations or events.

Environmental risks can arise from oil/waste which is produced when catering facilities are used; oil which is used for generators where lighting is being provided and construction waste produced from the construction and de-rig of studios or temporary sets.

Productions within the European Union must follow this guidance as it interprets UK environmental law, which reflects European Law.

For productions outside the European Union, productions must operate within the environmental laws applicable in that country. This guidance should be used as a best practice guide and its recommendations should be followed as far as reasonably possible.
