Programme Type

Throughout the BBC there a huge number of genre or programme types. This guidance brings together some of those which are not covered elsewhere on this website. The guidance aims to give programme makers some assistance in planning and recording while reducing the risk of harm being caused by the work, and should be used in conjunction with other information on this website.

Where members of the public are involved or are key contributors to programmes, the BBC must ensure that we protect these people from harm. Where contributors and members of the public are unfamiliar with programme making they require specific training, instruction and guidance.
